Winter Small Group Concerts: January 23 & 24 at Dazzle Jazz Club in Denver. There will be two sets each night, featuring two to three groups each set. We have to do it this way in order to accommodate all of the friends and family that come to support the musicians.
Please make reservations for the set during which your student is playing. If you want to come early or stay late for another set, that's fine as long as parents of students performing in that set have seating preference. Because the dining room fills up quickly (it seats less than 100 people) and there is no cover, make reservations for your friends and family soon! Dazzle serves delicious appetizers, dinner, drinks, and desserts. The club is located at 930 Lincoln St. in Denver. Reservations can be made by calling 303-839-5100. For more information about the club, check out Dazzle's Site.
We're really looking forward to hearing all of the talented groups! It's a time to celebrate all of the work, learning, growth, and creativity that goes into the weeks leading up to these performances. Thank you so much to all of the parents and other friends and family that help support these amazing musicians.

Ethan Bialick, Henry Dickhoff, Luke McCrosson, Zach Berns, B.K. Kahn, and Jake Alvarez.
All State Jazz Bands rehearse and perform at the Colorado Music Educator's Conference in Colorado Springs January 26-28. CCJA will have a booth at the conferecne, so stop by and say hello if you're going to be there!
CCJA has groups that can perform at parties and other events! If you know of an organization or person that is hosting an event that could benefit from some jazz, please let them know that we have some alumni and current students that we send out to perform. This helps the students gain valuable work experience and helps raise funds for CCJA. We've performed at numerous events over the years, but most recently we've had students play at the Niwot Jazz Festival, Park Place Retirement Home, and fundraising events for other non-profits such as the Colorado Neurological Institute and the Craftworks Foundation. Contact Paul Romaine for more information.
There are several professional musicians, including CCJA alumni, who have openings in their private studios for lessons. If you're in need of some suggestions for private teachers, contact Paul Romaine.
Congratulations to new CCJA Student Board Member, Luke McCrosson. The board recently appointed him to fill the student member position, and we are grateful to him for his willingness to be of service to CCJA! Luke is a senior at Monarch High School, and plays bass. Students, if you have any feedback or ideas for him, let us know and we'll give you his contact information.
