Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support, preservation, and growth of jazz as an art form. With its focus on the Colorado jazz scene, CCJA strives to meet the following goals:

• Create unique learning opportunities for the study of and performance of jazz
• Support school jazz programs
• Bring together professionals and students to form mentor relationships
• Unite the jazz community through networking and communication
• Support live jazz performance
• Increase and educate jazz audiences

Founded in 1999, CCJA first focused on creating learning opportunities for young jazz players, thereby launching a "Youth In Jazz" program. Denver-area musicians ranging in age from 12-18 meet once a week to play together and learn improvisation, techniques, style, history, theory, arranging, and business from professional musicians. Over the years we have developed several different programs to help accomplish our goals of meaningful learning. In the spirit of bringing different aspects of the jazz community together, we have also created a

Colorado Jazz Directory

that enables musicians, teachers, bands, fans, students, stores, venues, record labels, recording studios, and publications to find each other. Since we are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, we are actively seeking sponsorships and tax-deductible donations! Our programs are partially funded by tuition, but the rest comes from individual donors and business sponsorships. It's hard to over-estimate the importance of keeping Jazz alive through future generations!
